Connecting Channels

Your OpenClaw assistant can connect to multiple messaging platforms. Here's how to set up each one.

Discord

  1. Tell your assistant: "Set up Discord"
  2. It will create a bot and give you an invite link
  3. Add the bot to your Discord server
  4. Start messaging in any channel the bot can see

Telegram

  1. Tell your assistant: "Set up Telegram"
  2. It will guide you through creating a bot via @BotFather
  3. Send your bot token to the assistant
  4. Message your new Telegram bot

Slack

  1. Tell your assistant: "Set up Slack"
  2. Follow the OAuth flow to install the app in your workspace
  3. Invite the bot to channels where you want it active

WhatsApp

  1. Tell your assistant: "Set up WhatsApp"
  2. A QR code will appear — scan it with WhatsApp on your phone
  3. Your assistant is now available in WhatsApp

Signal

  1. Tell your assistant: "Set up Signal"
  2. Follow the instructions to link as a secondary device
  3. Your assistant is now available in Signal

Security Note

After connecting two channels, the web interface is automatically disabled. All future interaction happens through your connected messaging apps. You can re-enable the web UI at any time by asking your assistant.
